Night rides at Glamis

That's right! If you cant beat the heat the only way to get a dune ride in is a night ride or early morning.
There is talk on the forums already for a night ride 9/10/11 if it happens? I will have to keep an eye on the posts to see if the date's change or if anyone goes or not? Im getting ants in my pants and might have to sneak a night ride in.
I have made several night and early morning rides in the past with day time temperatures in the 100's the usual night time riding temperature is about 90 to 85 after the sunsets and in the morning you have to get up early and ride because it's back up in the 90's and rising by 10am.
I will try to keep this ride current and take pics if I make it, till then stay safe and if you plan on going out this season I will keep reminding you to have your permits.

Glamis Sand Dunes

Trying to get geared up for the upcoming season, alot of buzz on the forums about hitting the Dunes for Holloween weekend.
The big weekend that usually kicks off dune season is Holloween, I hope everyone is as excited to get out there as I am. I have been watching the forums and even some people have already been going out riding nights and early mornings before the heat kicks in.
Glamis for Holloween is alot of fun! People usually decorate there ride and even dress up in costumes so they can show there selves off at the Drags, if your a regular im sure you know what im talking about.
I have been spending a few days here and there getting things ready, trickle charge battery, checking tires, making sure the tow pig is ready etc...
Stay safe and hope to see you at the Dunes this Holloween

Glamis Dunes has brought a whole new aspect to riding for me, I have only been riding the dunes for several years now but riding in “sand” is a whole new adventure.
Growing up back east in Michigan most of my riding was in the dirt and trails through the woods, fire roads, etc… Here in sunny Southern California it’s either the desert or the dunes and both are great.
Riding in Glamis over the years has brought a lot of fun and excitement but most of all it has brought me friendship! I have met so many great people out on the dunes, there friendship has led me on trips and rides all across the United States that I would have to say are the best times of my life.
Let’s here your stories and adventures about the Dunes and anything current that may be going on? Sadly to say, I know I won’t be going as much as I used to in the past due to the current economy and gas prices but I have talked to friends and have figured out ways we can tow and gas share to make things easier on us.
Waiting on the cooler weather to come around so I can head on out, It is not coming fast enough. Don’t forget your Imperial Dunes Permits! Help support are dunes and dune facilities so they are here for the future and are children.
I will see you all out at the Dunes!
